Michael has more than 25 years of IT leadership experience in industry leading companies. He has led global fortune 500 companies in leveraging new technologies to transform their businesses and gain competitive advantage. Currently, he is Executive Partner at Ethos Capital, a specialized investment firm that helps accelerate the growth and profitability of established companies in today’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
Most recently Michael was interim CIO and technology advisor to several global brands, where he spearheaded transition to new business processes and operating models.
Michael is a digital transformation leader and an IT executive grounded in creation of business value. As the CIO of Disney, he reinvented the IT operating and governance model across all business units and segments, delivering over $200m in efficiencies annually. He also orchestrated development and implementation of Guest centric operations for Theme Parks and Resorts, including invention of Fastpass, the most impactful digital innovation in the hospitality industry.
Michael also spent 5 years as CIO of Gap Inc., responsible for overhauling the company’s IT landscape in support of plans to significantly improve margin, reduce SG&A, and increase global sales through international expansion and E-Commerce. He helped develop one of the first omni-channel sales and fulfillment systems in retail.
As CIO of Quiksilver, Michael developed execution strategy to transition Planning, Design, Development, Production, and Supply Chain from a regional to a global model.
Michael also spent 5 years in Healthcare working with hospitals, pharmacies, and manufacturers to reduce overall cost of dispensing drugs in the healthcare system.
Michael has served on the board of several startups, including Runa Inc. (e-Commerce technology) and Arges Inc. (medical devices) both of which were acquired. Currently, Michael is Chairman of the board of directors for INETCO Systems Limited, and Advisor to Mobify Inc.
Michael obtained undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of Southern California. He served on the Corporate Advisory Board of University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and CIO advisory board for Oracle corporation.
