Vancouver, Canada, October 4th, 2011 INETCO Systems Ltd., a leading provider of transaction monitoring solutions for complex business transaction environments, has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Challenger’s quadrant of the Application Performance Monitoring APM Magic Quadrant released on September 19th, 2011.

“In the past nine months, INETCO has successfully executed on a number of strategic initiatives that helped us expand into new market verticals, which we believe helped us secure recognition within the Challengers quadrant,” says Bijan Sanii, CEO of INETCO.  “These include an impending partnership with one of the world’s largest software, services, and hardware companies; being first-to-market with a monitoring solution that makes it easy to adopt the open sourced AMQP 1.0 business messaging protocol for everything from infrastructure services to cloud computing; and the planned January 2012 release of INETCO Insight 5.2, a robust, light-weight transaction monitoring product that will change the face of the APM industry.”

Gartner estimates that, in 2011, approximately $2 billion will be spent globally on APM licenses and first-year maintenance contracts. This represents a 15% increase, compared with the $1.7 billion spent on this technology in 2010, which, in turn, grew by about 10% over the global spend in 2009.

“At just the moment when executives have become keen about imposing an application-centric view of the world on IT operations, applications have become far more difficult to monitor”, says Will Cappelli, Research VP at Gartner, Inc. in the report.  “In general, architectures have become more modular, redundant, distributed and dynamic, often laying down the particular twists and turns that a code execution path could take at the latest possible moment.”

The INETCO Insight transaction monitoring solution was assessed for its user defined transaction profiling capabilities, application performance analytics and end-user experience monitoring.  INETCO Insight speeds up the isolation of application performance issues and provides complete visibility into high volumes of in-flight transactions, simultaneously originating from a variety of end-user, service, and middleware applications.  Utilizing a hybrid of “recognize and trace” and “time stamp analysis” approaches, INETCO Insight is easier to deploy  than agent-based APM solutions and provides better visibility into a broader set of application architectures and environments.  This leads to greater operational efficiency, improved service reliability and optimized application performance.

INETCO Insight captures a continuous flow of granular transaction intelligence by tapping into traffic at the network level.  Packets are captured via strategically opened SPAN ports, and constructed into a seamless, end-to-end transaction path.  At the core of INETCO Insight is a “unified transaction model” (UTM) that makes it easy to analyze transaction performance in the context of end-user experience, multiple application components and environments that comprise new complexities like software-as-a-service, virtualization or cloud-based services.
